2005 Kia Spectra Car not going

I have a 2005 Kia Spectra with only 51000 miiles on it. When I put my car in first or second gear it doesnt seem to go, or it will but it will only go about 5 to 10 MPH and the RPM's rev all the way up. Once Im in 4th gear it seems ok if I stay at a steady speed but once I get stuck behind someone going slower or I have to slow down the RPM's go up and the whole thing starts over. Not so sure that it is safe for me to be on the road. Could this be my clutch, if so is it really normal for the clutch to go with only 51000 miles like the dealership is trying to tell me? Thank you

clutch is slipping and needs to be replaced ..
