2004 Kia Spectra Speedometer Guage

I have a @004 Kia Spectra with 46,000 miles on it. I take good care of it and on 2 recent LONG distance car trips 800+miles i have noticed that my speedometer does not work properly. It is ether 30 miles under or 30 miles over! What could be wrong and can i fix it by myself ....also what should i expect for cost?

your vehicle speed sensor is mostlikely at fualt, these sensors located on or near the transmission, some are located inside, Its will cost you approx. 200 dollars depending on where you go, I do not recommend a dealer if you are trying to save a few bucks
