Hi, I have a large oil leak on my car listed above diesel. As I understand it it’s a timing chain. The chain has started to rattle so I have stopped driving it as I was driving it small distances and topping up the oil. When I did top up the oil the rattling stopped. There is no loss in power and it all feels fine. Just the leak. My question is can I just get the timing cover re gasket or resealed? Rather than the more expensive version of getting the whole timing chain system replaced which I’d rather not do if I can avoid it. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Yes you can get the timing chain cover resealed, but with that many miles you might want to think about the chain as well if you are going to keep the car. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can see what's going on? That would be great. You can upload it here with your response.
