Had the oil changed in our Kia a week ago.. Last night I filled it up with gas and today after 60 miles it is down to half a tank.. Normally I would get about 125 miles... There is a strong odor of fuel inside the car as well as outside when running... Could this be a fuel injector how do I replace it?

Hello,

A strong odour of fuel inside and outside would usually indicate a fuel leak from the fuel supply system, from the fuel tank to the engine. With the engine idling have a look underneath your vehicle and see if there is any obvious fuel leaking/dripping on the ground.

Also open the hood and inspect the area around the fuel lines and injectors for dampness.
This is easier done if you first remove the engine cover to gain access. See picture below

A leaking or faulty injector would usually cause rough running or misfire issues.

To access the fuel injectors the intake plenum will have to be removed, see picture attached

To remove the intake plenum please see links below

Please let us know how you get along
