2003 Kia Sorento Pumping Gas

Everytime I go to get gas and start the pump. It will pump for a few seconds and then stop. I will then pull the pump out of my gas stank and gas will start spraying from my tank all over the side and then onto the ground. I try it again and it will do the same thing. What could be wrong with my truck and is it dangerous?

I had this same problem with my Kia Sorento (2003). It ended up being problem with charcoal in the tank from a charcoal converter of some sort. I am not very good with repairing cars. They had to replace the charcoal converter (thing) and clean the fuel tank. Luckily I didn't have to pay for it since I had only bought the car about a week before this happened, but I am sure that it was not too cheap.
