2001 Kia Sophia AC Drive belt repair

My daughters car, AC clutch pulley has been squealing while engine is cold. Yesterday the belt shreaded off.
question # 1 does this probally means the AC compresor has to be change now???

question #2 Can on put on a new belt that drives the waterpump and AC if I disconnect the AC clutch drive electrical connection?? part B; Will this allow the pulley to free wheel so the water pump can operate till we get the compressor replaced/

Try and turn the A/C pully if it is free then install new belt. WasA/C on when belt went?
