can i recharge my ac low side even if the engine has been running for awile but not over heating can the pressure on the low side burst the can

Hi there,

Working on A/C systems is dangerous, if the system is over pressurized and a hose fails serious personal injury can result, with that said if the system is low of refrigerant and you wish to top it up, you are really wasting your time, the refrigerant can only get low via a leak, so if you just top it up it will leak again, you will have to go get a leak test done, this will inject a dye into the system that will show up as a stain where ether is a leak, i recommend to get this test done first.
