1999 Kia Sephia Burning oil and bogging down

Hello, i own a 1999 kia sephia and well first the speedometer went out for about 5 miniutes and then came back on for about 30 seconds, only to stay perminantly out since then... speed sensor??? it caused the odb to read speed sensor. wondering where that is on the car. i can fix.

ALSO

car sometimes sputters and when it does it burns a fair ammount of oil in the process. goes away for a while and does it again. WHATS wrong.. head gasket??
i just replaced the valve cover gasket!
Any advice guys?

have a compression test carried out on the cylinder head !! Vehicle Speed Sensor...Left side of engine compartment
