I finally got this car running but then the timing belt broke. I got everything all lined up with the new belt but the firing order on the distributer seems to be different now. I need to know the firing order and placement of the plug wires.

I'm not rich I am a single mother of 3 and take care of my elderly father also. I know sounds like a story but it's true. I had this car running finally but the timing belt broke. I got a new belt and put it on the car everything is lined up and tdc I have the firing order 1 3 4 2 my distributer has a 1 on it but it is not in the 1 spot as far as the manual goes

4 1
3 2 this is how the distributer looks to me in the book

after setting tdc and all that
3 4
2 1 looks like this on car now

engine 1 2 3 4 plug wires I need to know what plug wire goes to what spot on the distributer and since the belt did break and I had to replace it is there something else that I might need to do to get this car going again. I am tired of begging for rides to work and getting home. I just want my car to run. Please.

OK got the plugs set like in the diagram that you sent me thank you it got the car running. I went to smog it and it failed and 2 codes came up P0170 Fuel Trim Malfunction and P0335 Crankshaft Sensor Malfunction. I replaced the sensor and noticed that my check engine light on dash has gone out so that is good. I need to know if the sensor also corrects the P0170 Fuel trim or do I need to do something else to correct that so it will pass a smog and I can get a life.
Thank You again.

Unfortunately your vehicle has what is called an "interference" engine. This means if the timing belt breaks inoperation, the valves will most likely contact the pistons and bend the valves. This will require a major repair of the internal engine. Only way to find this out is to replace belt and start engine up and if you hear valves hitting then you know they need replaced. As for the timing, check out my diagram I posted above, that is the correct firing order for the 1.6 and 1.8L engines of the sephia. Let me know if you need further assistance.

That's great, glad its running again! Most likely the bad crank sensor was indeed causing fuel trim issues as well which in turn caused the p0170 code to appear.
