My mechanic found "mild to moderate" sludge on the engine. The probable cause is that the oil wasn't changed frequently enough. We changed the oil with an engine cleaner and plan to change oil at 500 to 1000 miles several times. My question is: Should the engine cleaner be used again or should I only change the oil frequently so that gradually the sludge is broken up. Also, should the pan be dropped to take a look to verify how much sludge is there? Thanks!
