Blocked Evap Canister

The check engine light is coming on intermittently. I had it checked at AutoZone and was told that I have a blocked Evap Canister. Exactly what is this and is/will it cause engine failure? Is an immediate repair necessary?

Yes the EVAP charcoal canister can omit raw fuel into the engine when it goes bad I would replace it ASAP here is the location and what it looks like below.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

I'm having the same problem on my 2005 Sedona. Diagnostic codes were P2422 and P0342. Other than the light, car sounds like it's running fine. How quickly should this be fixed?
