The parking brake and battery lights came on the dashboard. Why and how do I turned off?

I had same problem and it turned out to be the battery was bad . My light went out after the replacement of the battery.Take it to a parts store near you and most do not charge for the test, they can also check your charging system to. I use Advance Auto Parts, how ever there are several that have same service. Hope this helpslet me know.
