My cigarette lighter outlet seems to be corroded & won't put out enough electricity to charge my cell phone or tomtom. How do I safely clean out the outlet &/or do I need to replace the outlet components ? If so, how would I do that?

You can clean it, but remove the fuse first or it will short out when you clean it.
