Timing belt

Just need to know how the timing marks need to be so I can put the new timing belt on. Haynes doesnt make a book for the car and ive been looking everywhere for the diagram.
if the diagram that you have on the site is the wat its suppossed to be then ill just refference that. But I dot know if that is just a diagram or the corect setting. Thank you so much

Hi there,

with the timing covers removed, turn the engine over until the cam marks (i) inlet & (E) exhaust are at 12.00 O'Clock they will align with notches on the backing plate, the crank shaft will have a notch & alignment mark & 12.00 O'Clock as well,

What degree should the timing belt be at? 1.6L engine.

If you are talking about replacing belt here are the marks, crank mark will be especially hard to see. See pictures. They should line up to timing marks.
