Hi,

Came across your website and decided to join and hope you can help.

I recently had my 2004 KIA RIO LS (CINCO) for US models, serviced by having my timing belt and full service done.

Recently (last week) I notice oil spots on my driveway and checked the car and found oil residue around the timing belt cover.

I would like to know what would be causing this and if it is related to the recent timing belt service, which from my invoice the following items were done.

Timing Belt
tensioner
idler
2x drive belts
gaskets
water pump and gasket
oil and filter change
air filter change
lead and spark plugs changed
coolant flush and replaced

I look forward to your help.

Thanks

Jay

A belt shouldn't have caused this type of problem. Wipe off the area that is wet, drive it a day, and check it again to see if you can tell where the leak is coming from.

Let me know what you find.
