After driving for a while there is a plastic burning smell coming from the front of my Kia. It has the exact same odor as a burning plastic frying pan handle on a gas stove! I check everywhere: no leaks, no burn marks, oil level perfect, brake fluid fine, transmission fluid fine, radiator liquid level fine. None of the hoses have any burn marks on them that I can find. I did not look under the vehicle.

When I open the hood I cannot distinguish where the odor is coming from.

Can you help me before something starts a fire?

Roseann:

Check the exhaust system to see if anything has stuck to the exhaust and is burning. You may have run over a plastic bag, cup... I went through the same thing with one of my own cars. A plastic bag melted to the exhaust and it stunk for weeks.

Let me know.
