My door ajar light constantly flashes and the warning noise keeps beeping. Its my driver side door that is messed up. I dont know what is doing it. Or why.

The manual doesn't show any pictures or procedures for replacement of the door jamb switch. A quick image search shows me it is just a simple bolt on part, probably a 10mm bolt. Should only take a few minutes to replace and it looks like the switch is about $15.00

I attached a picture of the switch below

I have a 2004 kia rio. The door ajar light and beeping sound keeps coming on and going off. I have checked all the doors and they are secure, however it still goes off. An example is while traveling over the holidays it didn't come on while driving for two hours, then all of a sudden it started lighting up and beeping for the next hour, then it was off again? I want to know how to disconnect the stupid thing. It is annoying and I don't want to spend 85 dollars to have it fixed.

Hello,

This problem is most likely the driver side door latch which has a micro switch that was gone out. You could just connected the wires so the computer thinks the door is shut all the time.

Here is the wiring diagrams so you can bypass the system. You want to connect the yellow green wire to black.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers
