My car starts but when I try to shift out of Park it will not moved. It's like it's locked or frozen. What could be the problem?

Hi there,
There is a safety lock out solenoid connected to the brake pedal, either the switch or the solenoid is faulty, check your owners manual there may be an override procedure to get it out of park.
