I have 2008 Kia Optima that has reached 15K miles. At oil change, the dealer suggested a drain and fill for the transmission fluid every 15K miles (at $80) in lieu of the flush and fill at 30K for $100. Are they scamming me here? Is it necessary? Can I do it myself cheaper? What's the truth? The mechanic said it wouldn't affect my warrenty.

Not necessary. Stick with the 30K service.
