what components REALLY need to be replaced when doing a timing belt,Everyone I ask gives me a wish list I might as well just replace the engine

nothing but the timing belt would need replaced if that is what you are having serviced. the sprockets, tensioner pulley, idler pully and auto tensioner should be inspected at this time but if they are all in good working condition then there is no need to replace any of them..
