My oil light flickers when my car is idle. I went to a technician and was told that my oil pressure was under 3 pounds and the repair sounded quite expensive. What could be the problem?

My first question would be: Are you sure you have enough oil?

I understand that you just got an oil change. My question is "are you sure you have enough oil?" Did you physically open the hood, and check the oil level? It is possible that the oil change place did not put enough oil to begin with..

That's a possibility, I'm going to check on this tomorrow. I don't understand why the technician would not have checked this out for me or maybe he did and just wanted to make some money.
