2005 Kia Optima Ignition key will not turn to lock position

Ignition will turn forward to start the car, but it will not come out of the switch itself because it does not turn all the way back into the lock position.

the barrel needs replacing .. do not remove the key .. it may not work next time and it will be a lot more difficeult to replace the lock barrel
