Chances are there is a sensor that is bad. However, to identify which one may require better equipment that what they had at the store. I hate to say it, but I feel you should take it to a dealer and just have them check it for codes for the air bag. They have the necessary equipment to do it.
Call around to get prices. Tell them you just want to know if it is a sensor or another problem. It could even be in the steering wheel itself.
