Have 2097 d9dge caliber base model no extras. Plane Jane. Anyhow got new battery thought old one kicked bucket after 6. Mths put new battery in everything worked. So now to find why old battery drained turned everything off took keys out and on the instrument cluster where it shows the MA ual transmission position P N D R L well this indication these lights all stayed on even after several minutes didn't shut off with keys out? What's going on? Any fix ideas? Hope it's just a relay stuck or something.
Thanks. Scott.

Did you open and close the door after removing the keys?

You're probably going to need an enhanced scan tool to be able to access the dash cluster and other modules and operate them remotely.

You might be able to narrow down the circuits with this procedure.

BATTERY DRAW PROCEDURE

There is a procedure for finding a battery draw like that.

You will need a digital ammeter and a jumper wire with clips on the ends to do this.
First rig any door switches so you can have a door open without triggering the interior lights and unplug the hood light. Remove one battery cable and attach the meter in series between the battery cable and battery post. Take the jumper wire and also attach it the same way. Leave the jumper wire on for at least 10 minutes to expire all the automatic timers. Now remove the jumper wire and read the meter. Anything over 50ma is too much draw. The way you locate this is to start removing fuses one at a time until the meter drops to normal level. This will be the circuit with something staying on. Determine what components are part of that circuit and check them individually until the problem is isolated.

I thank you for reply. I think that's a but beyond me lol. Should I open and close all the doors make sure that's not issue. It worked fine Saturday then came home later that day battery dead completely had the hatch open on it to. Do you know by chance what fuse would control the instrument panel so I can pull that instead of disconnected t battery all the time till fixed?

You don't even know if the cluster is the real cause. It could have a module staying on somewhere that triggers that. Those LEDs have very minimal current drain.
Here are the diagrams with that info.

Back again had a friend pretty mechanical. There was in draw on battery pulled fuse 14 interior lights etc. That's as far as his knowledge went. Now when we pulled this fuse the bater drew very little amps or ohms not sure but was in normal range. Put number 14 fuse back in keys out lights for transmission in was draw a lot of juice. So with this fuse out the funny think is every thing works normally as should everything in difference when this fuse is out is that the transmission indicator lights go out.
Any suggestions ideas from this point? Fuse box? Computer needs reflashing or replaced?

You probably didn't give the timers enough time to expire.

No I turned everything off keys out everything shut waited like 5 minutes didn't shut off waited 10 minutes didn't shut off that's why drained the battery only reason why it's shutting off now is I've pulled fuse 14 and left it out although I can turn radio on and off with no keys in lol and I here a slight steady humming noise around the engine are very quite but it's humming steady buzz and right now fuse 14 is out and battery is hooked up and everything off again I can turn radio on with no keys and hear this slight buzzing.

The system probably has a "retained accessory" relay in the circuit that is supposed to keep those things alive until the door is opened. It may be staying activated but unfortunately it is probably built into the smart fuse box and not serviceable. This is going to get pretty complicated and probably beyond your ability from here out. You're probably going to need a local shop to track it down.

Have you tried to driver it with that fuse out? That sounds like a transmission controller fuse.
