Hi,
Did this happen all at once? Have you tried lubricating the tumbler? Let me know. If it happened all at once, the tumbler or switch may have failed. If you noticed any changes in the amount of pressure needed to turn it, then I would suspect the tumbler.
If you look below, I attached the directions for removing the tumbler. If lubricating it makes no difference, I would remove the tumbler and inspect it as well as the switch itself.
Let me know what you find.
