The key keeps getting stuck in my ignition cylinder?

Hi there!

I was having some other issues along with that, so I ended up replacing the ignition cylinder as well as the battery, however, I'm still having an issue with the key.

It only does it about half of the time now, and particularly when it's really hot outside. It happens between just turning the car on (not started) and off, and the battery light comes on as well. I looked at a different post about a different car, and the suggestion was that it was the shifter. Could that be what my issue is here? How would I go about diagnosing this?

Yes, if the shifter cable is stretched or out of adjustment the key will not come out of the ignition. Here is how to replace/adjust the shift able to help fix the problem. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
