I have the car listed above b-max and today the only key I have decided it would not be detected by the car. I’ve attempted changing key battery but still no luck. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

I'm not 100% sure why it doesn't recognize the key, but there is a system back up you can try. Take a look at these directions (and the attached pic) and let me know if it helps:

Backup Starting
NOTE: There are certain areas within the vehicle where the passive key may not be detected and the message center displays Key not detected. If the passive key is in the far outside edges of the interior (such as in a door map pocket or above a sun visor), it may not be detected. Move the passive key to a different location and try to start the vehicle again.

When the vehicle experiences a PATS (passive anti-theft system) no start, the Key not detected message displays in the message center when the START/STOP button is pressed.
In the event of one of these failures, place a valid programmed passive key in the backup location to allow the vehicle to start. When the START/STOP button is pressed, the PATS (passive anti-theft system) center antenna activates the passive key and the identification code is sent to the RFA (remote function actuator) module. The passive key must be oriented correctly in the backup starting location.
Passive Key Backup Starting Location (see pic 1).

Let me know if that helps.
