Key doesnt work. No power in car

When I put the key in the ignition, it doesnt turn. It makes No sound.

abs brake light was on for months, a mechanic said it would eventually lock up. Is that what happened?
i really want to get this fixed. I am the 2nd owner of this car. I have had it since 2005, I really don't want to junk it.

please help

Thank you for responding. Where do I find that switch? Is that something I switch on or replace ignition?

The problem in the video is different from what you described, but the videos will show you how to gain access to the ignition switch, so you can use a screwdriver to see if it will crank.
