You will have a cooling system problem, loss of coolant will cause chronic over heating. You will have to re fill the system and get it pressure tested for external leaks. If that is okay, a head check for exhaust gasses in the cooling system, this is a simple test most mechanics can do in a few minutes. It will show if any exhaust gasses are in the cooling system, if so it will be a head problem. Also, just make sure that the drive belt is okay and if all is good with the other tests, replace the thermostat and get the radiator core cleaned for internal blockage. Please post back with any questions or findings for more assistance.
