Put new timing belt and tension-er on car and torqued to specs and turned by hand counterclockwise six times and every time I get it put together it runs for few minutes perfect then jumps time and have about wore bolts out tearing this thing back down and cannot figure out why it keeps doing this. Lost a lot of money on this job but cannot find out what would cause it to continue to do this. Could water pump be the cause? It spun freely and everything else is where it should be.

Hello my name is Dave.

It sounds like something is binding up provided that you are getting enough tension on the belt. My suggestion would be to make sure there is enough tension on the belt since the spring that sets the tension can get weak, if that feels like it has enough tension on it I would suggest starting the engine with all the covers off and see if you can tell if the camshaft or the water pump are binding. I have seen water pumps try and seize after they get hot so if you run it and it jumps with the cover off it would be relatively easy to pull the belt off at that time and see if the water pump still spins freely. I hope this helps you track down the problem and thank you for using 2CarPros.
