Jerking on accelerating

Occasionally the car will jerk upon acceleration. The check engine light will flash and the traction control light will come on, when it happens.
The code reads low power to catalytic converter, could this really be the issue?

Hello, I am Danny.

Just curious to know if you have access to the code numbers/written down? Usually a code P0421 or P0432 designates a Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold. If the Converter is plugged that could cause the car to jerk/poor engine performance as well. If you could get back to us with the code information we would be happy to help you further.
