Ill just bet you have a Pugeot (SP). tranny. I work on jeeps for a living and ill tell you now its not the best tranny to have. It's ok i guess if its treated nicely with no offroad abuse. I just hate them. I have rebuilt several of these and the cost of the replacement gears and shafts are unreal for what you have. I would suggest a tranny swap strongly. Was it popping out of 5th before it quit?? Has it ever stuck in reverse or in any other gear?? My best advice is take it to a really reputible tranny place that you know and get an up front estimate. Best if you get them to break it down and then give you an estimate, if you can pull it and take it in loose. Otherwise alot of shops will raise the estimate on you once pulled and then your kinda stuck if you know what i mean. Sorry not much help for you but please let me know what you find out. Do some price checking around so you know what to expect. They are not that hard to work on but the parts are really high.. Curt
