1988 Jeep YJ head gasket

when i start my jeep it smokes out of the tail pipe realy bad the smoke does not smell like antifreeze but i am concerned that it mite be a blown head gasket. the temperature gauge does not read at an abnormal temp so I would like to know what is causing the smoke

an important factor here would be what color the smoke is?
