I have a Jeep Wrangler, sports model, 2006, automatic.

I have 3 problems in my Jeep Wrangler.

The engine light is on all the time in my wrangler Jeep. If I remove the + or – from the battery for about 30 minutes and re-fix it, the engine light disappears.
The minute I start driving again and after about 30 minutes it comes on again.

When I start driving the RPM go up more than level (2) and the speed is only 70 to KMH.

When I am accelerating there is a creaky noise coming from under the Jeep, when I break it disappears.

I have spend so much money to get it fix, took the Jeep to 3 garages and none of them have fix the problem. They have ripped me off and I am so frustrated and don’t know what I should do?

Can you please give me some advice what I should do?

Many Thanks.

Why are you assuming you've been ripped off? What did the mechanics come up with for a diagnosis?

The Check Engine light means the Engine Computer detected a problem, set a diagnostic fault code, and turned the light on to tell you. The last thing you want to do is remove a battery cable to erase that valuable information. That isn't going to fix anything. It can just make it harder to diagnose.

You need to have the codes read and recorded, then we can determine where to go next. Many auto parts stores will read the codes for you for free. Find out what the exact code numbers are.

Thank you for your reply.

Everything started to happen from last month.

I gave the Jeep to a garage to change the four suspensions, after changing them I could feel that the Jeep was very hard and not flexible.

One morning when I was driving to work I felt a wobble on all four wheels so I stopped the Jeep for about 5 minutes and started to drive again, that evening I took it back to the same garage and asked them to fix my old suspensions and told them what happened. After they fixed the suspensions they told me that there is a leak in the head gasket and that I need to get it fixed. So I told them to fix that, the next day when I was trying to start the Jeep I could not start, I had to keep on trying till I started the Jeep. I took it back to the same garage and told the problem and got it fixed. I spend about 300 US Dollars.

After two week my rear Left Axle broke, this time I took the Jeep to a different garage, after they fixed the Axle they told me that I need some jobs to be done in the Jeep. They told that they need to:-

Repair the Gearbox
Valve Body Valves Changed
Gearbox Cleaned
Gearbox Oil
Solenoid Changed
Axle Changed

(I don’t know what they did) they gave me a bill saying they did this and I had to pay 1100 US Dollars.

My problem is not yet fix so I took the Jeep to the Main Service Centre and explain to them what are the problems I am facing with my Jeep, they told me that they need to do a full service which cost me 275 US Dollars just to do a Service which I did not require and they kept the Jeep for two day and could not give me a report so I remove the Jeep from the service centre.

After 2 weeks I gave the Jeep again to check my problem this time they kept the Jeep for about 10 days and did not give me any feedback they told me that everything is ok however I had to pay about 240 US Dollars.

I brought the Jeep back home and the next day when I was driving the engine light came on again, I could not accelerate much and the noise from under was still there.

So I called the Jeep Service Centre and told them that they have not yet fix my problem, then they told me to bring the Jeep back and one of the Guy took the Jeep for a test drive and he told me that when driving the gears don’t shift, but for the Engine Light On & the noise coming from under don’t know why. :-(
