I'm getting a vibration that I can feel and hear especially when I'm slowing down. It isn't consistant with the RPMs but seems to be consistant with the drive shaft. The vibration comes and goes every 20 seconds when i'm rolling at highway speeds as well.I've checked the rear transaxle fluid and the level seems ok but it's awfully black and there is a small amount of leakage around the edges.

The fluid level is full. Right. You might try checking the front driveshaft, around the yolk area, these often wear and will cause this type of vibration, you can try to move it around in all directions a very very small amount of movement is most cases ok but not alot, also ujoint in driveshafts bot transfercase and front and rear. Has the jeep been lifted? This can change the angle of the shafts cause excessive wear, and create a vibration. Hope some of this helps. Alot of things can cause this.
