2004 Jeep Wrangler heater fan resistor

i have a 2004 jeep wrangler unlimited with 22,000 miles. the heater fan doesn't work in the medium setting, but all others; low,high, etc. i've been told it is the resistor. i have taken the dash apart but don't know exactly what i'm looking for.

The blower motor resistor block is under the dash on the righthand (passenger) side.
