I have recently gotten a jeep wrangler 2000 6cyl 4L that was totaled. I do have a jeep wrangler 2000 4cyl 2.5L. Can I swap out the 4cyl for the 6cy. I would think in theory I can swap them out with out a problem.

In theory is accurate. Might be easier to swap the bodies.?!

Things that can be a hassle are the wiring harnesses, pcm/bcms etc. Drivetrain issues-different trans or driveshafts.

I would think about selling or swapping it for a V6 if it were me.

IF you go forward, it would be worth getting a subscription to mitchell one.

You need to spend some time comparing wiring schematics and part numbers. They have an estimator that gives this. IF things seem to align okay regarding this it may be okay.

There was a guy that swapped a 1.9 sohc with a 1.9 dohc. Final result was that it couldn't be done when it was changed due to a wiring incompatiblility.
