I have a 99 jeep wrangler, manual trany, 4cyl. This winter it started having a long crank and then once it DID crank, I had to gas it a bunch at first before it would hold an idle. At first I thought it was just the starter. It would take so long to crank, it almost ran the battery down. I thought maybe the low idle was because the cylinders were flooded because of the long crank. BUT, I replaced the starter, and SAME PROBLEM. I replaced my Fuel Pump about 30k miles ago. Any ideas what I should do next? I will be really frustrated if it is the fuel pump again >:(

See my profile. I may not be able to assist you. But I will at least try.

Maybe someone else with more Cyber Jeep experience will jump in and save the day.

This, at least, keeps your post fresh and at the top of the list and alerts all, that you need a reply.

When you were experiencing this failure to start problem:

IS/ WAS/DOES your CHECK ENGINE LIGHT work/s/ing and is/ was it ON CONSTANTLY?

Did you/ friend/mechanic/ sister/ dad/ other poke a screwdriver thru it because it was annoying to you?

Did HE ( a strong, manly decriptive pronoun) "so called"----HIT A LICK, (none, a little, most of the time, explain).

Could you hear, smell, feel, or TEST for fuel or FUEL PRESSURE while these puzzling problems were occuring?

Did you hear, smell, taste, feel, or TEST for spark at the plugs, during this "TRYING TIME"?

Please Reply. We will see if we can process your next reply and maybe one of us will yell out, BINGO ! ! !

Love, Turddog
