The ignition switch actuator (the part that connects the keylock to the ignition switch and locks the steering wheel) broke. The Jeep dealer says that I have to buy a complete steering assembly for $400. The local used parts dealer will only sell a complete steering assembly. I cannot find the part on the internet. Is there any other source for this part? If I get a complete assembly, is there any trick to installing the broken part only? When I took the broken part came off it seemed to be pretty straight forward.

Steering column parts like that are usually dealer items, if they only list it as a complete assembly, you may be stuck buying it that way.I would install the complete assembly if that is how you have to buy it,but it should be pretty straight forward as youi said
