What's the best way to remove the skid plate? It seems real heavy and the Transfer Case sits on top of it.
Is the Transfer Case attached anyplace else besides the Skid Plate?

See my profile.....On a CJ tranny and transfer case are bolted
together and ONLY the transfer case bolts to the skidplate.
.......Removal is EZ......Jackstand up tight against rear driveshaft,
close to
skidplate...(if your drive shaft is on really steep angle,
center up a jack to support plate, unbolt it, lower every thing
at once, until JACKSTAND SAFELY will support shaft at a safe
level attitude)...this will support weight of all.......
Tranny/ transf. case/ rear of engine...........Engine + mounts will
prevent TWISTAGE of entire assembly while you drop plate....
If you are dropping all at once---take care not to BIND-UP your
STICK-SHIFTERS and any thing else that may touch as you lower.....
SOUND LIKE
A SAFE METHOD?...ANY THING YOU ARE UNSURE OF?......NOT
AS BAD AS YOU THINK......TAKE IT SLOW.....HELP IS ALWAYS
A PLUS.....Wadder you doing anyway?

Love, Turddog
