I had my pads, calipers, and rotors all replaced last year and after about 4000 miles my brakes starting locking. I took it in again and they had to replace my pads and calipers again. I notice that after driving for about 10 miles, the jeep is jumpy coming out of 1 and in reverse, and it seems sluggish overall. Seems like it is the brakes sticking. I'm not sure what the problem is, but I don't want to have to replace the brakes again. Is this a hose issue? Could something else be causing this? I haven't had the rear drum's done, does this need to be looked at?

The front hoses can collapse on the inside and actually keep the calipers engaged a little after the pedal is released. I would of thought the shop would of caught this. Also if this is the problem you should drain and replace the brake fluid. Did they do the rear brakes when they did the initial brake job? Pull one of the rear drums and make sure the rear shoes are put on correctly. I have seen shops install them backwards and this would cause a grabbing or catching. To tell, look at the shoes and you will see one is bigger (the pad surface) than the other. The smaller shoe or pad needs to be towards the front of the vehicle. Let me know what you find out. Curt
