car stopped running, when stops, acts as if out of gas. replaced fuel pump, fuel filter. same problem. CAr will run for 2-3 minutes and then runs out of gas. cleaned fuel likes, checked fuel flow all OK. It appears that the pump quits after a certain point, fill lines, car runs until no more gas. Usually can here pumpm come on with key on, but not always. Checked relays - swapped relays some problem. is there a sensor?? or ?? that needs to be changed?

Hi wardlatimer. Welcome to the forum. You missed the next step that most people miss. You must also check for spark when the engine stalls. There are three circuits; the fuel pump circuit, the ignition coil / injector circuit, and the trigger circuit that tells the Engine Computer when to turn on the automatic shutdown (ASD) relay. The ASD relay sends current to the fuel pump, ignition coil(s), injectors, oxygen sensor heaters, and alternator field. The trigger circuit consists of the crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position sensor.

You should hear the fuel pump run for one second after turning on the ignition switch, then it should run again during engine rotation, (cranking or running).
