Transmission problem
1988 Jeep Wrangler 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

will an ax15 transmission from a 4.0 6cyl. bolt to my 4.2 6cyl? i believe it will but im not sure if my np231 transfer case will without changing anything. could you tell me if it can be done and if i would have to change anything? thank you very much.

According to Novak conversions it will bolt up to your NP231 T-case.They dont mention anything about the 4.2L engine, but they say that trans is used from 1988- 199 YJ,XJ,TJ modles, so if your engine fits into those years/models it should work.
