Electrical problem
1987 Jeep Wrangler 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

my knock sensor is not hooked up and i dont know which color wire goes to it so i can hook it up.

and my engine makes a knocking sound when you rev it up. i think it might be the knock sensor, but on the other hand it could be a bad main bearing but that is where it gets tough because it is a brand new motor. so i have already over ruled that it is a rod.

so what do you think?

Hi there,

If the knock is when you accelerate quickly and not so bad when light throttle is used i feel it will be the knock sensor, if this is not rectified you run the risk of burning a hole in a piston, so get your mechanic or auto lec to sort this out before you do some expensive damage.
