I have a 2000 Jeep Wrangler 4.0L with ~140,000 miles. A few days ago I noticed the oil gauge was pinned at 80psi (normally it’s at 40psi), it stays at 80 immediately after start up and doesn’t move if I’m at an idle, city or highway driving. I’ve had to drive it this way for almost 400 miles now and the engine sounds and runs great and all the other gauges are normal (no high temperature). Could this be the oil pressure sensor/sender unit or the oil pump pressure relief valve? Thanks for your help.
