2001 Other Jeep Models Wont start

I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Quadra Drive- it ran fine yesterday when i drove it to work- but this morning when i went to start it it would not start! it cranks over and i can also hear the fuel pump kick on- but it wont start! the check engine light came on for the first time ever yesterday for about a minute but then went off! do you have an idea of what my problem may be? thank you for your time and help!

The CEL on, scan the computer for OBD2 code/s this is your starting point getting to the problem, you have a problem with the engine management system. Autozone provides this service for free99
