Hi, New tio this, but hope you could help. Sounds like I need to replace some lifters. After taking off valve cover to inspect top of head and all valve components. I noticed pushrods had quite bit of sludge on them and the motor itself. I flushed top half of engine and replaced with new pushrods & oil. Though some lifters appear to be knocking, it's not that bad to replace them. However, when I re-assembled and started up. I noticed after a few moments, that NO oil was coming up through the new pushrods. Oil pressure gauge in car indicates 40psi. What could be the cause of this and what is the easeist way to fix this? Thanks. AZDuke

Could be caused by the lifter bores, excessive clearances between the camshaft journals and cam bearings, and excessive end play in the camshaft

Thanks for the information, all be it. It sounds like the heads and camshaft nee to be pulled and if the bearings need replacing in the cam shaft. I would say the motor has to be pulled alltogether. Would you agree? Again, thanks for the help. AZDukes
