After topping the radiator off with coolant and filling the bottle, I ran it at idle for about 7 minutes and it started to over heat and steam out of the radiator. I was wondering if it could be the thermostat. Is it located on the engine side of the upper hose coming off the radiator?

I figured out the problem. The themostat housing was cracked. Inspecting the metal the housing was made of... indicated that it was a cheap substandard part that had air pockets within the metal which weakened the strength of the product. I am really disappointed with Jeeps quality control. Sorry Jeep that's why foriegn competetors are putting you guys out of business.
