I am unable to get the rear hatch opened using the exterior handle. Is there a way to get the hatch opened so that it can be repaired

If you don't have an electric or manual release,
you will need to try to get the inner trim panel/panels off. You might not want to try this yourself, it can be pretty tough even for a trained tech. Good luck........mickey-d
