1996 Other Jeep Models Engine Light

At around 50,000 miles, my Engine Light came on. I took it in and the computer said the air filter needed to be changed - so they did that. Within minutes of driving it again, it came back on. I took it back - they checked again and same code. They cleaned it and as soon as I drove it, it came back on. Took it back - same code, so they replaced the air filter again. Came back on, then they replaced it with a Jeep filter, hoping that was the problem. It wasn't and it is still on. I have been driving it and it is driving fine, but want to get this fixed. Any idea what it may be? And why is their computer saying a code that is obviously not the the problem?

Wherever you took the vehicle does not have a clue. Try bringing it to autozone and have them scan the computer and then give us the code(they do it for free) and we can guide you. ****There is no code that says your air filter is bad. Hope this helps
